HISTORY
& BACKGROUND
An all-volunteer
organization, CTS is led by a core of computer science professionals and
University Professors, as well as gifted and enterprising post-secondary
students.
CTS was founded in August of 2003, by Dr. John Foster and his wife Mary Ann.
Dr. Foster has taught at Historically Black Colleges and/or Universities
for over 20 years including Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. Twice ranked
as the number one college in the nation for educating African American
students, Morehouse College is the nation's largest private liberal arts
college for African-American men.
Since its launch in 2003, CTS has
helped a total of 1,250 people in the Greater Atlanta and Savannah metropolitan areas develop
both basic and enhanced
computer skills. Up to 90% of our students were children or youth between
the ages of 5 and 18.
CTS is supported by a broad coalition of residents, educators, non-profit
organizations, corporations, foundations and government agencies.
