After
School Technology Program
The After-School Technology Program is the flagship Training Program of
CTS. The goal is to introduce computers to at-risk or otherwise
disadvantaged young people attending either elementary or middle-school.
The After School Technology Program is specifically designed to integrate
technology into existing elementary and middle school curriculums and
instructional themes. The Program reinforces those learning themes, while
at the same time providing a fun, meaningful and measurable technology
experience.
By making use of unique software and exciting lesson plans, the Program
strengthens academic skills in languages, the arts, math, science and
social studies. It also encourages problem-solving and develops
critical-thinking skills, while enabling these young people to apply their
newly-developed skills to real-world situations.
